News
From 26th March 2024, Cook Lane Surgery will have a new phone system. Patients will now be able to choose an option to direct them to the correct service. This will enable all patients contacting the surgery ease of access and a more efficient phone service.
Please remember to choose the correct option for your needs. The phone service will also allow patients to hold their place in our queueing system if there are more than 10 callers at any one time. We ask for your patience during the transition process. Thank you.
NEWS REGARDING NHS STRIKE ACTION:
- Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that patients who need urgent medical care continue to come forward as normal, especially in emergency and life-threatening cases - when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.
- If we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned. The NHS will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled due to strike action.
GP services are not impacted by this strike action. Please continue to attend your GP appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise. - On days where there is strike action, patients should only call 999 if it is a medical or mental health emergency [when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk].
- Ambulances will still be able to respond in these situations, but this may only be where there is an immediate risk to life.
- Where the situation is not life-threatening, alternative support will be available through NHS111 online or through NHS 111, and where possible, it is advised that you arrange alternative transport.
- For more information on when to call 999and when to go to A&E, you can visit the NHS UK website.
From November 1st 2022 all patients will have access to their own online medical records.
If you require online access please call the surgery on 01924 402073 or call in to the practice and ask our reception team about the process. It's quick and easy and allows you to view your medical records online.
You will need to be able to access the NHS app for this service.
