Leg Ulcer Service Changes
Message from NHS Lincolnshire ICB regarding Leg Ulcer Service:
Leg Ulcer Patients
We would like to sincerely apologise to all patients affected by the changes to the leg ulcer service previously provided in house at Beechfield Medical Centre. The service which was planned to transition over to Gosberton Medical Centre in the longer term has encountered some unexpected difficulties which unfortunately requires further changes to the service provision.
You will be contacted shortly by someone from Lincolnshire Community Nursing Service to arrange an appointment as soon as possible. This appointment could be either at Gosberton Medical Centre or Johnson Community Hospital. Please wait to be contacted.
We apologise for any anxiety and inconvenience these changes will cause to patients and we are working very hard to put a longer term and sustainable solution in place.
If you have any concerns regarding this change, you should contact the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) Tel: 0300 123 9553; Email: LHNT.LincsPALS@nhs.net
If you would like to complain to the Integrated Care Board please Telephone 01522 309299 or email licb.feedbacklincolnshireicb@nhs.net
ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our dear colleague and partner, Dr Babu, passed away this week after a short period of illness. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.
Dr Babu was not only a valued member of our team but also a compassionate and dedicated doctor who touched the lives of many patients and colleagues alike throughout his career. His loss is felt deeply across our practice and the wider community, so we ask for your patience and understanding during this time as some services may be affected.
An online book of condolence is open to anyone who wishes to share their thoughts and memories of Dr Babu - https://www.online-tribute.com/DrBabu - a physical book is also open at the main site should anyone be unable to access online.
Lincolnshire Primary Care Awards
Yesterday (26th March) the practice was awarded High Commendation at the first annual Lincolnshire Primary Care Awards event. This event was organised by the Primary Care Workforce Team at NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board and the awards were judged by a panel of individuals who champion staff wellbeing.
Teams across the 4 pillars of Primary Care (General Practice, Dentistry, Optometry and Pharmacy) in Lincolnshire were nominated for their work in line with the 7 elements of the NHS People Promise which include compassion & inclusivity, recognition & reward, listening to staff, ensuring a safe & healthy work environment, promoting a learning culture, allowing flexibility and encouraging teamwork.
Our team are incredibly proud of the environment they have cultivated, and the support offered to them in so many ways by the partner, the management team and by each other on a daily basis. We are incredibly grateful to receive this recognition.
Some members of our team also received long service awards – Sara Harris, our Dispensary Manager and Anne Coddington, our Cardiovascular Disease Specialist Nurse for 30+ years service and Debra Cooper, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner for 40+ years. These ladies have dedicated most of their working lives to helping patients across different areas of healthcare and we are very lucky to have them in our team.

Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
Access
The surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair, and there are no untoward inclines or awkward corners to negotiate. We also have several dedicated parking spaces reserved for patients displaying a disabled badge. There is a bell at the surgery entrance for those patients who require assistance with access, and we have a lift to enable movement between floors.
Parking is only available to patients while attending the surgery for legitimate reasons (attending for an appointment, collecting medication, etc.) and we do make regular checks of the car park to prevent misuse.
Try the NHS App
If you’re a patient at our practice, you can use the NHS App to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
It doesn’t replace existing services. You can still contact us in the usual ways.
But, once you have verified your identity in the app, you will have easy, 24/7 access to a growing range of health services and information. You can:
- order repeat prescriptions
- access NHS 111 online
- find NHS services
- view your health records
- book appointments
- and much more…
If you have any problems using the NHS App, you can select ‘help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit nhs.uk/helpmeapp.
