Evening and Weekend Appointments

Improving access to general practice: Evening and weekend appointments now available

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Evening appointments will take place at Lundwood Medical Centre. Weekend appointments can be made at iHeart Barnsley by telephoning 01226 242419. Talk to a practice receptionist to find out more or book and appointment.

By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at www.england.nhs.uk/gpaccess

Introducing i-HEART Barnsley

i-HEART Barnsley is now available to patients Monday – Friday 10am – 10pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm.  This service gives you access to a GP or Nurse by either face to face, telephone triage or video call. The practice operates over three sites Lundwood Medical Centre, Monk Bretton Health Centre and Cudworth Health Centre. Patients can be seen at any of these surgeries.

We are a member practice of Barnsley Health Federation – Consortium of GP Practices comprising of 24 local practices who work together to commission local healthcare. In September 2011 the practice joined with another Barnsley GP, Dr P C Kakoty to form an over-arching partnership: KH Medical.
