New GP Partner

The practice would like to welcome Dr Asha James who joined us on 2 January 2019. Dr James will work 3 full days. On Monday and Friday she will be at Hethersett surgery and on Wednesday, Mulbarton surgery.

Extended Opening Hours

For extended opening times for this month please click on the OPENING TIMES tab above.

Named GP

In accordance with a Government directive, all patients have been allocated a named doctor at the surgery they are registered with. However, you can still book an appointment to see whichever doctor you prefer, or whomever is available at a time most convenient to you.

If you would like to know who your named doctor is, please ask at reception when you next visit.

Friends and Family Test (FFT)

With effect from 1st December 2014, NHS England is introducing a short survey into General Practice called the Friends and Family Test. The principle is that all people who use the NHS should be able to feedback their experience to improve services for patients.

Therefore, after each visit to the surgery, you will be given the opportunity to complete the survey and post it in a reply box. Alternatively, you can complete it online via the website, the link is located at the bottom of the homepage.

Each month the practice must report the figures to NHS England who will publish the results on the NHS Choices website. The practice will also display the results in each surgery and on our own websites.

If you have any questions regarding FFT or if you have any difficulty in completing the survey, please speak to one of our receptionists who will be happy to help you.

Online Appointment Booking/Cancellation

A limited number of appointments can now booked online via this website. If you wish to access the online service, you will need to obtain a unique Username and Password from your surgery reception. Please bring some form of photo identification with you (driving licence or passport). To book or cancel an appointment please click on the "Appointments" tab at the top of the page and follow the link.

Access to Medical Information Online

In accordance with the 2014/15 GP contract regulations, our practice now offers patients the facility to view areas of their medical records online. Patients can now view and print a summary of information relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions.

If you would like to be able to view this section of your medical records, please visit reception and bring photo identification with you (passport or photo driving licence). We will then issue you with a unique username and password for you to be able to access your records online. You will also be able to use the same log in details to order repeat prescriptions and book online appointments.

If you already have a username and password to use online services but would also like to view areas of your medical records, please speak to a receptionist who will arrange this for you.

Text Messaging Reminders

If you have provided the surgery with your mobile telephone number, you may start to receive text messages to advise you of a recall for an appointment, to confirm the cancellation of an appointment and to advise you when you have failed to attend an appointment.

If we do not have your mobile number and you would like the surgery to be able to contact you in this way, please speak to a receptionist. Please note that it is your responsibility to inform the surgery if the number changes.

By providing your mobile number you are consenting to us using that number to contact you. If you do not want to receive text messages, please speak to one of our receptionists who will be happy to help.

Update Friday 23rd March

If you haven't received a letter to say you are in the high risk group and you think that you are please be aware that more is being done nationally over the next few days to identify people who were missed so we can't tell you at this time.

We are aware the NNUH has cancelled all routine referrals. We are keeping a record of these if we are made aware of them and this will need addressing at a later stage.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, to protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home

Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

For further information go to nhs.uk/coronavirus or gov.uk/coronavirus.

The Humbleyard Practice will only be seeing patients at Hethersett and Mulbarton surgery. Cringleford surgery will be closed. This enables the practice to operate safely with declining staff numbers due to self-isolation guidelines

All requests to see a Doctor will be triaged by telephone and if a face to face appointment is needed, this will be arranged, normally for the same day. You will be screened outside the door by one of our staff. Please observe safe distances.

Nurse appointments for urgent issues are still being booked in.

Patients should only attend an appointment if they DO NOT have the following symptoms – high temperature (above 37.7), a new persistent cough.

We will still be sending prescriptions electronically to local chemists. We have been asked because of supply chain issues to only provide one month at a time.

Despite rumours on social media all respiratory patients  DO NOT need rescue packs. You

should continue to manage your symptoms in the normal way. Some people with COPD have a rescue pack and this would have been discussed with your respiratory nurse. If you do not have a pre existing respiratory condition you do not need to order inhalers.

Our advice may change daily in accordance with government guidelines, so please visit our websites as we will keep these updated.
