INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS ATTENDING PRIVATE HOSPITALS AND CLINICS

Due to long waiting times for investigations, specialist appointments and operations within the NHS, some people are deciding to attend private hospitals and clinics, locally and abroad.

If you are thinking about using a private health provider, either by self-funding or private health insurance, we strongly advise you to first consider the information held within this patient information leaflet.

RESPIRATORY SCREENING QUESTIONS IN HEALTH AND CARE SETTINGS

GP Surgeries and other health and care settings are to ask patients and accompanying carers respiratory screening questions prior to entering the premises.

Please familiarise yourself with these questions and if you answer yes to any of them on the day of your appointment please do not attend.  Instead we ask that you phone us and let us know.

Please gel your hands before entering the building.

If your matter can be dealt with over the phone we encourage you to phone us rather than coming to the surgery.

COVID VACCINATION PASSPORTS

Please do not contact the surgery to ask for a Covid vaccination passport or status certificate – we will not be able to provide any standard document.

ENGLAND ONLY - NHS DIGITAL COLLECTING GENERAL PRACTICE DATA FOR PLANNING AND RESEARCH 

You may have heard in the media about NHS Digital collecting patient data from general practice for planning and research and that there is a form to complete if you wish to opt out.  We wish to let you know this applies to England only.

CHANGES TO DELIVERY OF VACCINATION PROGRAMME FROM 01st March 2023

In the past those requiring a routine vaccination will have been invited to attend an appointment at your local GP Practice. As from 01 March 2023 most vaccinations will be delivered by the Health Board as part of a national vaccination transformation programme.

NHS NEAR ME VIDEO CONSULTATIONS

WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER VIDEO CONSULTATION KNOWN AS NHS NEAR ME.  THIS ALLOWS FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION WITH A GP OR NURSE WITHOUT HAVING TO VISIT THE PRACTICE.  THIS WILL BE ARRANGED BY THE GP OR NURSE IF THEY FEEL IT WOULD BE OF BENEFIT AFTER A TELEPHONE CONSULTATION HAS TAKEN PLACE.  IN ORDER TO USE THIS YOU WILL NEED:

• A RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION - BROADBAND, WIFI OR MOBILE DATA
• A DEVICE FOR MAKING VIDEO CALLS - SMARTPHONE, TABLET OR COMPUTER WITH WEBCAM.
• THE CROME BROWSER (FREE TO DOWNLOAD) OR SAFARI BROWSER ON IPHONES/IPADS.

THERE IS NO APP TO DOWNLOAD OR LOG IN FOR PATIENTS.  IT IS A WEB-BASED PLATFORM.

Access & Parking

There is a large car park at the rear of the building – turn left past the surgery. We ask you to use this car park whenever possible, as we only have four spaces at the front, which need to be available for less mobile or disabled people.
