     Carnon Downs Surgery

Welcome to our surgery which is situated midway between Truro, Falmouth and Redruth.  We are a dispensing practice offering care to approximately 6050 patients from a single modern site which is located on the outskirts of the village. The practice team of doctors, nurses, dispensers and administration staff take pride in providing the highest standard of healthcare. Traditional values are combined with  modern advances whilst encouraging patients to be active participants in the care they receive. We offer a full range of medical care plus many other extra services that demonstrate our ethos of innovation for patient benefit.

We are also part of the Coastal Primary Care Network working alongside Chacewater & Devoran, St Agnes and Perranporth Surgeries.

We hope that you will use our website to make the best use of the services we provide.

WEDNESDAY 27 NOVEMBER

The nature of working within a GP Practice means that our team members both clinical and administrative, work to tight time slots, the majority of which is spent with patients.  Whilst this is a key element of our work, it means that there is no time for whole team staff training or hold vital meetings to support learning.  To support us in being able to have time for these aspects of our work we have achieved approval from the Integrated Care Board that we will operate an emergency only service for patients on a designated Wednesday afternoon each month from 1.30pm until 6.30pm to allow these meetings to take place.

Please note the dispensary and surgery will be closed except for access to emergency care via an initial telephone assessment service.

We will publish our dates here and in the foyer so that all patients are aware of our opening times.  We appreciate your support with these closures for vital training and to help us improve procedures and processes within our teams.

Please Note:

CLOSURE of DISPENSARY DURING THE WEEKEND starting 18.4.20

The surgery will no longer be open for the collection of medications on a Saturday morning from Sat 18 April 2020. Our new regular hours for the collection of medication will be Monday to Friday 8.30am until 6.00pm.  The window may not be manned if we are operating with skeleton staff so please ring the bell and someone will be with you as soon as they can.

If you have an urgent medical problem during these times and telephone the main surgery number 01872 863221 you will be advised to telephone 111 or alternatively you can use the link NHS 111 for medical advice.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

If you require emergency medical treatment please phone the Out of Hours Service by dialling 111.

There will be no telephone access to the surgery on a Saturday, the phones are re-directed straight to the Out of Hours Service.
