News
We are sad to announce that at the end of March, Dr Cox will be leaving us to move to New Zealand. We are very grateful for the care and support he has provided over the last 7 years and he will be greatly missed by all staff and patients.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Anne McKeown will be joining us in mid May to replace Dr Cox. Dr McKeown has been working as a Partner in Lanarkshire and we are very excited to have her join the team.
Aberfoyle Surgery will be open on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 8am - 1pm

Important Patient Update – Temporary Changes to Our GP Availability
We want to let our patients know that, until mid-May, our practice is currently operating with only one GP Partner while we await the arrival of our new GP, Dr McKeown.
During this time, we are prioritising urgent and medically necessary cases. Routine matters such as prescription requests and non-urgent appointments may take a little longer than usual. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
We do have locum GPs supporting us during this period, but we know it’s not quite the same as having our full team in place. Please bear with us—we’re doing everything we can to continue providing safe and effective care.
Thank you for your support.

Coronavirus Information
We ask all patients to consider using www.nhsinform.scot for general health information and self care advice.
Appointments
If you need to see a GP please contact the surgery. The member of staff answering your call will take some information from you about your reason for an appointment and pass this to the GP. This is to allow the GP to prioritise the requests.
Prescriptions
You can continue to order your prescriptions in the usual way, by leaving a voicemail on our dedicated prescription option when contacting the surgery or by emailing fv.aberfoylebuchlyvieprescriptions@nhs.scot
Organ and Tissue Donation Law In Scotland
The Human Tissue (Authorisation) (Scotland) Act 2019 was passed by the Scottish Parliament in July 2019. The legislation provides for a 'deemed authorisation' or 'opt out' system of organs and tissue donation for transplantation. The system came into effect on 26 March 2021.
Under the opt out system, if you die in circumstances where you could become a donor and have not recorded a donation decision, it may be assumed you are willing to donate your organs and tissue for transplantation.
You can find out more information about these changes and how to opt out at https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/uk-laws/organ-donation-law-in-scotland/
