Dear Patients

If you are experiencing flu like symptoms eg cough, high temperature , or any respiratory problems please do not enter the surgery. Go home and ring the following number  02897562929 for advice.

Travel Vaccination Information

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to get specialist advice from a Travel Clinic

Please plan ahead at least three months in advance of your departure date to ensure there is time for you to get your vaccinations in time.

The Travel Clinic will carry out a travel risk assessment and provide you with a letter detailing the vaccinations you need. Please bring this letter into the Surgery so that our Practice Pharmacist can arrange a prescription for the vaccinations that are not provided on the NHS.

You must then make a telephone appointment with our Nurse Practitioner who will speak with you and inform you of any free  NHS vaccinations that you may need for your travel,  the Nurse Practitioner will then make you a face to face appointment with her to have the vaccines administered. Your prescription for your travel vaccines will be sent to your designated chemist and YOU MUST COLLECT THESE VACCINES AND BRING THEM WITH YOU TO YOUR APPOINTMENT.

If several family members are going on the same trip, please ensure that each family member has a letter from the Travel Clinic detailing the vaccinations they need.

ar Patients,

Zero Tolerance

We are a zero tolerance practice.  GP’s and their staff have a right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused.

In most cases, patients and their relatives are respectful towards surgery staff but unfortunately a minority of people are abusive or use threatening behaviour.

 The surgery will request removal of any patient from the practice list who demonstrates any of the following behaviour towards our staff;

Using offensive language or swearing at staff

Verbally abusing or insulting staff

Using loud and intrusive behaviour

Any physical violence towards any member of the practice team

Posting abusive or potentially defamatory comments on social media

Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff - requests will be met where possible and explanations given when they cannot

We ask that you treat all our surgery staff courteously and with respect. Thank you.

Flu/Covid/Shingle Vaccination Clinics

We run Covid/Flu/ Shingles clinics in accordance with Health Board guidelines. You will be sent a Text or Letter to invite you to a clinic for a vaccine, please be patient at this time, if you are eligible you will be contacted.

Prescriptions

Repeat Prescription Requests

Repeat prescription requests will take 48 hours (2 working days) to process.

While ordering repeat prescription requests, patients must give name, address, DOB, name and strength of medication required and chemist of your choice. Only one patient's order per voicemail, if ordering for numerous people please leave a separate voicemail for each patient.

Due to data protection and patients own safety, community pharmacies can no longer request medication on a patients behalf, nor can the practice post individual prescriptions to patients. This has to be ordered by either the patient, their family or patients representative.

Patients can allocate a chemist in Ballynahinch or arrange to collect prescriptions in the surgery.

You can order using either:

Repeat Prescription Line on 02897565999 (operational during office hours)

      Montalto Medical Centre Website

Box at the front lobby in the Surgery

Please be aware of bank holiday closures when ordering your medication and allow extra time

Alternatively, we do have the facility of a portable induction loop. If you would like to use this, please ask at reception for assistance.
