Self Care for Life – be healthy this winter

Self Care Week 17-23 November 2014

Did you know that it is usual for adults to have two to four colds a year while children are likely to have three to eight as their immune system is more susceptible to viral infections? That’s why, during winter, when seasonal illnesses are more frequent, it is important to take extra measures to stay well.

As part of Self Care Week 2014, we are encouraging people to choose healthy lifestyle options that will impact positively on their physical health, mental wellbeing and self esteem. Help to maintain health and ward off illness by eating sensibly, stop smoking, drinking in moderation and taking regular exercise.

The Self Care Week message is "Self care for life – be healthy this winter" which we are supporting.

Welcome to Maghera Medical Centre

Maghera Medical Centre serves the whole of Maghera as well as its surrounding villages within an eight mile radius.

Our team consists of 5 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Treatment Room Nurses, Health Care Assistant as well as our Practice Manager and Reception Staff.

We offer a full General Practice Service and run Specialist Clinics for Asthmas, COPD, Secondary Prevention (e.g. Heart Disease), Thyroid and Hypertension, Antenatal and patients needing Minor Surgery.

At Maghera Medical Centre we treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.

If you live in our area and would like to register with us, please complete our registration forms that are available from our reception. You will be registering with the practice rather than an individual GP.

Opening Times

You can telephone the practice from 8.30 am.  The front doors do not open until 8.45am.

The Practice is closed for lunch between 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm.

The Practice is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The Practice is a member of the Dalriada Urgent Care who operates an out-of-hours service for patients (please see When We Are Closed for more details).
