Welcome to Aghalee Surgery Online

At Aghalee Surgery the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. The practice is part of village life and we wish to maintain the tradition of service to our local community.

We currently operate a TELEPHONE FIRST TRIAGE SERVICE. **Please note all telephone calls are recorded**

If the doctor needs to see you face to face they will arrange a time for you to attend the surgery. The receptionist will ask you for a short summary of your problem, don’t be alarmed, this helps the doctor to prioritise calls if it is a particularly busy day in order to deal with the most urgent problems first. Rather than manage all telephone calls on the same day we will be starting to offer telephone appointments on a booked basis. Our receptionist will still ask for a short summary of your problem as there may be another service that you could utilise more quickly. If a receptionist advises you that there may be another service that you could use instead of the GP then please try that service first, there are often many community services that patients can self refer to that are more appropriate and can often see patients that same day.

We continue to treat, manage patients and prescribe medications, but this may be done by telephone.

If you have questions or concerns, please telephone the Surgery, as we cannot reply via this website.

Our premises have suitable parking, access, toilet facilities and height adjustable couches for patients with disabilities.

Surgery Opening Hours

Please be advised that on Monday the surgery can often be extremely busy, particularly now that we are managing most problems on the same day. If you are having difficulty getting through and your problem can wait until later in the week the practice is usually less busy the rest of the time.

The surgery is closed on Wednesday afternoons but should you need to speak with a GP contact the out of hours on 028375 67055

During 2024, the surgery will be closed on the below dates:

Tuesday 17th December from 1pm (staff training)

Wednesday 25th December & Thursday 26th December

During 2025, the surgery will be closed on the below dates:

Tuesday 15th July - urgent cover only
